I feel a little like I've lost control over my color usage over the last couple of years... Now that Bastion is more or less wrapped up, I'm hoping I can begin the road to recovery and expanding horizons :). Here's a doodle of the evening - started as an insane urge to draw chainmail, which quickly faded. I was really trying to channel the preraphaelites whom I love so much with only moderate success... I'll do better next time!

really like the shapes of every thing in this pic.
Just found your blog through bastion cause I'm super sleuthy (no, I'm not misspelling stalky). Love your art, gonna keep an eye on this blog!
congratulations on bastion! have been following the production of the game since a friend of mine introduced it to me quite some time ago. really inspiring for someone who thinks art directing and actually doing the artwork for a game would be a dream come true :)
lovely! The paleness of the skin and the warmth of her orbicularis are in competition with each other...the light source isn't apparent as warm or cool. Maybe a brighter sliver on her tunic would make her front face bathed in a pale bright light, like a sliver of moonlight? Or warm saturated tones on the side of her face and the metal of her tunic clip would indicate a light source like candle light or a torch coming from the side..
The Bastion art is great. Colorful and fun fantasy designs!
